A dense, oily press with a strong resinous aroma and a dark surface that shines slightly under the light. Deep earth carries a sharp peppery edge underneath. The effect arrives quickly and settles heavy, so take it slowly rather than treating it like a lighter press. Warm it gently before working with it and it will give without crumbling.

Hash rewards a slower approach than flower. Crumbled through a joint it burns evenly and stretches the flower much further, and laid on a bowl it runs down through the material as it melts, so a smaller piece goes a long way. It also takes noticeably less to reach the same place.
