Chernobyl is a hybrid created by TGA Genetics in California. The strain was developed in 2007 by Subcool, a co-founder of the business, by crossing a male Jack the Ripper with a cut called Bloodwreck, which is a cross between a male Trainwreck and a female Trinity. The mother of the strains Timewreck and Queen Anne’s Revenge was also known as Bloodwreck. Subcool said that the female displayed genetic stability (not producing male stamen), which he believed was compatible with the DNA of Jack the Ripper. In 2010, Chernobyl was named High Times Strain of the Year pay for twitch followers.
